The Newry area is to have a new airport we can reveal.

The airport will be where Warrenpoint stands today said the Department of Infrastructure in a statement.

We spoke with Council Chairperson Gillian Fitzpatrick who told us:

“I am proud to announce that we are going to level Warrenpoint to make way for a new airport that will service the greater Newry and Mounre area. When taking into consideration where we wouldn’t really miss we decided almost immediately that Warrenpoint would be perfect to bulldoze to the ground and build the ‘Pat Jennings International Newry Airport’ in its place.”

It is thought the UN and UNICEF will send in aid workers to help the thousands of misplaced Warrenpoint refugees when demolition begins and it is thought they will be rehomed in Kilkeel and Annalong.
