The Catholic Church in Ireland has released the images of a stone mosaic that will be installed in Newry Cathedral in honour of two local living Saints; Independent Councillor Gavin Malone and Ernie Campbell we can reveal.

The two local lads who have fought adversity all their lives with the stigma of being from the ghetto districts of Newry have rose to prominence with their acts of generosity and giving nature.

Archbishop of Armagh and the Primate of All Ireland Eamon Martin told Newry Spud:

“We have been working closely with Swedish artist Emma Karp Lundström who made the designs of the two local walking Saints. I think I can speak on her behalf when I say we are all very humbled to be working on Gavin and Ernie’s images.

They are truly servants of God and show great heroic virtue in their everyday life, especially ion Facebook where they have to tell us all about their great works.”

Meanwhile it has been reported that chocolate giants Cadbury’s are to ask that Councillor Malone’s mosaic is amended to show him holding a box of Milk Tray.
