Friar Tuck’s has been named a Fast Food Outlet of outstanding cultural importance by the UN we can reveal.
Newry’s Friar Tuck’s expert Paul Garvey told Newry Spud:
“This will help protect the integrity of Friar Tuck’s for future generations of Newry slobs by ensuring that only traditional fats and precise levels of salts and herbs are used.
Its famous coleslaw is to be created using the time-honoured method of pouring a load of fatty mayonnaise into a vat with random bits of vegetables.”
The precise geographical location of Friar Tuck’s country status was detailed by the UNESCO judges, stretching from the front door of the Monaghan Street restaurant all the way to the front door of the Sugar Island restaurant.
