Two Camlough men are running in the Virgin Money London Marathon next Sunday 24th April.
The two friends former Sinn Fein councillor Pat McGinn and Larry McCabe have been training relentlessly for the epic long distance run this past year.
But fears have emerged that the two geriatric runners may not make the final distance due to a combined age of 219.
That said the two men are doing it all for a very good reason, The Southern Area Hospice Services and deserve the full support of the community.
We at Newry Spud who usually report on all things serious and never tell a lie would like to show our full support for the two lads.
Pat’s son Conor who is a Labour MP has used his position and put his sizable weight behind his father’s campaign.
A leaked expenses form for the St Helen’s MP shows that he has claimed expenses to have 40 doctors along the marathon route to be on hand in case his Da or Larry takes a turn.
