A Newry court has ruled in favour of ‘Jihadi Paddy’, the Leader of a Derrybeg based ISIS unit, in a lawsuit stemming from two years ago when a local bakery denied him service.

The Judge concluded unanimously that the bakery had violated civil rights laws by discriminating against the ISIS man when they refused to sell him a cake for his organization’s annual birthday party.

Hugh Boyle, who owns The Shelbourne Bakery, refused to bake a cake for the ceremony because it violated his Catholic religious beliefs.
‘Jihadi Paddy’ filed the lawsuit claiming that The Shelbourne’s refusal of service was discriminatory against his religious beliefs.

Hugh Boyle told Newry Spud:

“I can’t believe it baah. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve nothing against ISIS or anything but I’m just not comfortable with them coming into the bakery every day asking for a ‘suicide bomb sausage roll’ or an Allahu Akbar chocolate eclair.”
