A turf war is under way in south Armagh this week after a Cullyhanna street gang sent out a verbal warning to a rival crew in Cullyhanna, sources have confirmed.
The self-proclaimed ‘Cullyhanna Feins’ and their bitter rivals ‘The Crossmaglen Crew’ have been exchanging verbal blows for several weeks, and many fear the situation could turn amusingly physical at any moment.
One Cullyhanna gang banger told us:
“The streets aren’t safe right now; man’s got to watch his back when he’s outside tending the cattle and stuff innit fein?”
The escalating tensions have arose as it transpired a ‘Crossmaglen Crew’ member showed disrespect at a local Young Farmers Barn Dance towards one of the ‘Cullyhanna Feins’ when he cut in and asked could he dance with the masculine looking farmers daughter from Forkhill.
One source told Newry Spud:
“It’s all over hon Beure from Forkhill, she’s as rough as fuck, the high tide in Warrenpoint wouldn’t take this yoke out but the lads are fighting over the head of her because her oul boy owns 390 Acres of land and has bought a New Holland T8.390 tractor. Hopefully we can resolve it before someone gets killed stone dead.”
