Stephen Fry will say Mass tomorrow morning in the Dominican Chapel at 11am Newry Cathedral have confirmed.
The atheist whom has hit the headlines in Ireland this week after charges of ‘blasphemy’ are being considered against him for saying God was a ‘capricious, mean-minded, stupid God who creates a world that is so full of injustice and pain.’
However, due to the lack of Priests in the Newry area the Catholic Church leadership in Newry have reached out to the British comedian and astonishingly he has agreed to celebrate Mass in the Newry chapel.
Mr Fry told Newry Spud:
“I was quite flabbergasted when I received the call from Newry asking me to celebrate mass in the Dominican chapel. Of course I think it is all a lot of bolloxs but however I feel this will help heal the wounds from my comments on RTÉ last year.”
It has also been rumoured that Davy Hyland will serve as the ‘Altar Boy’ for Fr Fry.
