A bomb found in Newry last night was said to be the most sophisticated of its type ever to be found in Ireland.

A PSNI spokesman told Newry Spud:

“We’ve never seen anything like this. When we found the bomb which was a viable device it was in a silk lined oak box. The sophistication within the bomb itself was incredible.

We found sheet music to Bach’s Mass in B minor, a bottle of cognac, 3 Montecristo cigars and an antique pocket watch. The sophistication of this device is simply breath taking. The dissidents are really stepping their game up.”
