In what can only be seen as a very positive move forward Sinn Fein’s Barra Ó Muirí has posed for a photograph with the Orange Order as King Billy and has said he will play William of Orange at this July’s Sham fight of the Battle of the Boyne in Scarva,
This move is seen as ground breaking by the party and could be seen as a massive step forward in the direction of their ongoing engagement with Unionism.
Mr Ó Muirí told Newry Spud:
“What a great idea this is. I think we can make massive positive strides forward in engagement with the Prods, I mean Unionists. And to be frank, I’ve always wanted to dress up in battle fatigues and a wig.”
However Willie Frazer has indicated that he will protest this move as he told Newry Spud:
“This is another attempt to take over our culture by the Provos. I am currently in talks with Manchester Police as I firmly believe the south Armagh Ra left the suspect package in Old Trafford yesterday.”
