The derelict public toilets on Monaghan Street are to be reopened after an extensive refurbishment and named in honour of pop icon Freddie Mercury the Council has said.
The old toilets that allegedly were an attraction for same sex frolics and fun in the 90’s will hopefully be in operation by March.
A Council spokesman told us:
“We are delighted to be reopening the Freddie Mercury toilets on Monaghan Street. We will be spending thousands on state of the art facilities for the public and we will also be installing a ‘glory hole’ room in honour of Freddie and for any of those ratepayers who would like to avail of it.”
