The PSNI were called to Newry Mourne and Down District Council this morning when outgoing Chairperson Roisin Mulgrew refused to hand over her ‘lovely big necklace’ we can reveal.
Councillor Mulgrew who just finished her term as Chairperson has got so used to wearing the chains of office that she will not hand them over.
One Council official told Newry Spud:
“It’s obvious Roisin is upset that she won’t be able to get her photo in the Reporter & Democrat every week with her chains of office wrapped around her kneck.
She’s refusing to hand them over. A PSNI negotiation team are on site trying to make her see sense.”
Councillor Mulgrew’s last known words were “From my dead cold hands they will need to take my big necklace from me.”
