Newry’s IÚR-FM radio station is providing a fantastic service from next week onward by promising to close down they have said.
With ear bleeding induced shows such as ‘Drive Time with DJ Shamie’ ‘The Shoe Box with Gerry Martin’ and ‘Solid Gold with Billy Mac’ the local radio station has finally listened to the locals and are pulling the plug.
Station manager Gerry Noears told Newry Spud:
“We have finally listened to the community and will not put them through the absolute shit we broadcast day and daily. We understand that our listenership could fit in a phone-box but we can’t in all consciousness expose them to so much nonsense, the time to give them a break is upon is.”
Newry Spud understands that the station is closing down due to local doctors in the nearby Daisy Hill Hospital who complained to the station about patients coming in with sore ears from mistakenly listening to the station for anything over 30 seconds.
