The self-proclaimed defenders of all things Republican in Newry, éirígí have said they intend to protest the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ auditions at the Buttercrane Shopping Centre next Monday.

The chief of staff of éirígí Stephen ‘Band Uniforms’ Murney told Newry Spud:

“We in éirígí are protesting these auditions due to the TV show having ‘Britain’ in the name. We are in talks with ITV to see if they will change the name of the Newry auditions to ‘The Occupied Six Counties Got Talent’ but the discussions at present are very slow.”

An ITV spokesman has confirmed they are in talks with both éirígí and Buttercrane to try and come to a peaceful conclusion.
