A Newry Opticians has found themselves in hot water after a recent advertising campaign went wrong we can reveal.
Fairbairn Opticians on Sugar Island paid a well-established advertising company to come up with a ‘cutting edge’ and ‘revolutionary’ idea to sell their glasses but some have found the premise ‘upsetting’.
The image shows an elderly man who clearly mistook a letterbox with a Muslim lady wearing a full faced Hijab trying to post his letter through the lady’s face veil.
Although quite hilarious to 99% of people some have found the idea offensive with Newry’s ISIS spokesman ‘Jihadi Paddy’ telling Newry Spud:
“This is an outrageous advertising ploy. Whilst quite naturally I am outraged, I am also even more annoyed by the fact that this image is a real photo that happened on Monaghan Street to my wife. God Almighty. I mean Allah Almighty.”
