A Newry man has spoke of his absolute ‘shock’ and ‘disbelief’ when he discovered Rostrevor was still a place we can reveal.

Jim Fatspatrick went for a short car journey with his friend when they stumbled upon Rostrevor prompting the two men to stop and take a moment to gather themselves.

Jim told Newry Spud:

“We just went for a leisurely drive and when we got to Warrenpoint we decided to go a bit further as the sun shining on the sea was a beautiful sight.

Next thing there it was, Rostrevor baah. I was sure it fell into Carlingford Lough and was swept into the Irish Sea many, many years ago. The place was deathly quiet and seemed somewhat deserted, very eerie indeed.”
