A Newry man has invented a new ride-on lawn mower it has been revealed today.

Damien Beattie from Bessbrook launched the ‘Cycle-Mower Deluxe’ after realising he could cut his garden quicker while on his bicycle.

Damien who usually works with cars modified his old Raleigh Mountain Bike with his traditional push mower to invent the biggest invention on the lawnmower market today.

Damien spoke to Newry Spud today:

“I just put two and two together and came up with the ‘Cycle-Mower Deluxe.’ I got pissed off pushing the lawnmower that I have from 1956. So I took the first wheel off my old bike and put on the blades from the push mower. It is a fantastic invention and Black & Decker now want to buy the idea. So, yeah, sweet.”
