ep4f-15

Newry Cathedral have come up with a novel yet brilliant way of cutting Christening times down to a fraction of their usual months long waiting list.

They have installed a birthing pool at the side of the altar so after birth the priest will immediately christen the child.

A spokesman for the Parish told Newry Spud:

“We were getting a lot of complaints about the waiting times for christenings so we thought that investing in a birthing pool we could kill two birds with one stone, we will of course have Daisy Hill midwifery staff on site through the births but we hope this new service will be enjoyed by the community.”
