A Newry man is writing a book about triathlons, athletics and sport participation in general we can reveal.
Tony Bagnall the self appointed ‘boss of the Newry swimming pool lanes’ is launching his new book next month entitled ‘How NOT to win a race, my 35 years in sport’.
Our whistle-blower Panzer Boyle who asked not to be named told us:
“Tony’s book is about how in his long athletics career he has never actually won a race or came first in any athletics endeavour. I suppose it’s a ‘how to’ book but in reverse.
If you want to become some kind of athletics star then do not read Tony’s book. If you would however like to be a mediocre athlete then this is the book for you.”
