The new Finance Minister Camlough man Conor Murphy has said he is going to Newry Credit Union to ‘tap them for a lock of quid’ after the shortfall of money allocated by the British government.
Mr Murphy who has said the £1 Billion allocated to the North will hardly be enough to finish off his new swimming pool extension on his Camlough mansion.
Minister Murphy told Newry Spud:
“The Brits gave me a billion to share between all the departments here in Stormont. But after looking into it in-depth it will hardly scratch the surface. First I have to add finishing touches to my house and now Gerry Adams has retired from the Dail he will need pocket money.
So it’s really going to be a tough job to spread it. That’s why I am going to hit the Credit Union in Newry for a lock of quid to see can they help us out in the short to medium term.”
