The world famous Monaghan Street in Newry will be renamed next month in honour of one of the city’s living legends we can now reveal.
From February it will be known as ‘Marty Bogroll Boulevard’ in homage to the most famous cyclist apart from Lance Armstrong.
Marty Bogroll’s spokesman Gino Lynch told us:
“This is one of the best days in recent Newry historic circumstances. Marty has been an ambassador for this city and has cycled the equivalent of around the planet 37 times up and down Monaghan Street.
For the Council who have been getting so much wrong lately this decision to rename Monaghan Street as the Marty Bogroll Boulevard is a great day for the Parish indeed.”
