One of Newry’s classiest pubs has said they intend to open up on Friday despite being classed as a ‘wet’ bar we can reveal.
Madden’s pub on Mill Street that is famed for its unique opening hours have ‘invested heavily’ to enable patrons to have a ‘substantial meal’ they have said.
A Madden’s spokeswoman told us:
“We bought an electric toaster from Argos and will offer drinkers a lock of rounds of toast with their pints. We envisage that this will enable us to open our premises unhindered by the law. We will also be offering butter and jam to patrons who buy over 6 pints of beer before 10 in the morning.”
