Newry PSNI have warned the public not to buy bread or milk from ‘unsafe vendors’ after a lucrative black market has sprung up with the recent bad weather we can reveal.
As hapless residents are isolated in their homes, criminal elements have stopped dealing in drugs and are now selling pan loafs and litres of milk.
A PSNI spokeswoman told Newry Spud:
“Unfortunately the local underworld and criminal elements have latched onto the irrational need of Newry folks to stockpile bread and milk.
We are aware of one such dealer who swapped 2 kilos of cocaine in exchange for 11 loafs and 14 litres of semi-skimmed milk.”
