Kylie Platt from Coronation Street will have her ashes scattered around Derrybeg her husband David has announced today.
A clearly distraught David told Newry Spud:
“We had a family meeting in the Rovers Return and we decided we should take her ashes back to Derrybeg in Newry. Very little people know this but she was born in Newry and lived in the Estate for years before being rescued by the Red Cross living in a rundown shack in Fifth Avenue. But she never forgot her roots and we will scatter the ashes on Friday at 4pm.”
A family insider told us:
“Despite the stardom, she remained a working class heroine until the end and wanted her ashes to go back to the place where she lost her virginity on the slide in the park.”
