Travelling Gypsy Families Flee Bessbrook For Of A ‘Better Quality Of Life’

After just a few weeks being based in the weird little village of Bessbrook, a small traveller community has finally upped sticks and left in search of a better quality of life.

Six families, some of whom appeared on the hit Channel 4 documentary My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, explained that facing another weekend within a two mile radius of Ardaveen and The Gardens was ‘too much to take’, and that the decision to arrive in the first place was a misguided one.

Bare-knuckle boxer Joe Joyce who is part of the ommuntiy leaving Bessbrook told Newry Spud:

“This is no place to raise children. We just want to find somewhere better and safer for both ourselves and our kids to grow up. I’ve been hearing good things about Warrenpoint”.
