Tourism Ireland along with the Newry, Mourne & Down District Council have announced plans to launch The ‘GILF of Gullion Festival’ this September in the Tí Chulainn centre Mullaghbawn we can reveal.
The competition will be open for all GILFS from the ages of 55 to 90.
The organiser Eilis DampFlapps told Newry Spud:
“This is a great opportunity for the grannies of south Armagh to showcase our talents, we are proud GILF’s and we want to put south Armagh on the map not just for natural beauty but for the beauty of us sexy grannies.”
One local farmer Peadar O’DealerBoot told Newry Spud:
“Great idea. It’s about time us farmers have something else to look at instead of calves, cows, bulls and sheep. That being said, I’ve seen some of the yokes taking part in this competition and I’d rather look at cows chewing cud all day.”
