There was scenes of joy in Crossmaglen today after an English Language Act was passed in Stormont for the south Armagh area.
South Armagh who have their own language or dialect have for long campaigned to be allowed to learn the English language so they can ‘fully integrate’ into normal society.
Speaking to Newry Spud Sinn Féin’s Conor Murphy told Newry Spud:
“I’m delighted to bring the English Language Act to South Armagh. From now on south Armagh people will be supported while trying to learn how to speak properly. It’s an exciting time for the community.”
