An English actor has filed papers to the High Court in London claiming Newry legend Lofty Larkin has for years been ‘using his fictional name without paying him royalties’ we can reveal.
Tom Watt who played the much loved George ‘Lofty’ Holloway in Eastenders from 1985 to 1988 said he believed Lofty Larkin ‘stole and infringed on copyright law’ by using the nickname.
However, we spoke with Lofty Larkin who told us:
“Tell thon Rubber Head to go and fucking jump in the canal baah. There’s only one Lofty and that’s me. I’ll gladly defend myself in court along with my legal counsel of Pat McGinn and Des Murphy.”
