It has been revealed late this evening that after ‘stepping down from public life’ Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh is to move into a rented two bedroom house on Derrybeg’s Main Avenue the Palace has confirmed.
It is thought local man Stephen Murney along with Sinn Féin’s Liz Kimmins who as we reported previously (here) is in a ‘loving and committed’ relationship with the Duke’s grandson Prince Harry is to facilitate the move.
Buckingham Palace released a statement saying:
“Given the Duke’s grandson’s involvement in the nearby Barcroft district with Councillor Kimmins he believed this would be a great move for him to ‘get away from it all’.
We spoke with Councillor Liz Kimmins who told us:
“It’s great to have Grand-Pops coming to Newry; the people of Derrybeg will welcome him with open arms. I will be visiting him daily with his food and to do his laundry.”
