Daisy Hill’s A&E department has been packed to the rafters with cases of sunstroke and sunburn as temperatures rocketed to a searing 15°C by 12 noon today we can reveal.
As hundreds flocked to Warrenpoint to cool off, Daisy Hill were struggling to accommodate the thousands of sun-worshippers who spent too long in the sun.
Nurse Majella Campbell told Newry Spud:
“It’s fucking crazy baah. We’ve got a queue right out to Parkhead of people with massive red faces. It’s like something out of a horror movie. You’d think that most people would use common sense in this heat but clearly not. There’ll be a few glow-in-the-dark yokes walking around Newry tonight baah.”
Temperatures are expected to top 15°C and media outlets are warning Newry people not to go out in direct sunlight until further instructions are issued.
