Film critics from around the globe have praised two Newry, Mounre & Down District Councillor’s roles in the new Blockbuster film ‘Stan & Ollie’ which chronicles the lives of famous comedy duo Laurel & Hardy.
The DUP & Sinn Féin representatives William Walker and Terry Hearty have been filming the movie over the past 2 years in between Council meetings and are said to have formed a ‘loving and lasting relationship’.
Hearty who plays the hapless Stan Laurel told Newry Spud:
“It was a great experience. Personally my only other experience in front of the camera was standing in front of dumped rubbish on the road side and pointing my finger at it for a photograph for the Reporter, Democrat and the Examiner.
I must compliment William for his professionalism. He’s a method actor. He stayed in character the whole time as Ollie Hardy; by that I mean he was always yapping and eating. Quite extraordinary.”
