Newry, Mourne & Down District Council have gave in to public pressure over their Christmas staff party that will take place in mid-January and have cut costs we can reveal.
Instead of having the popular chart topping DJ David Guetta as preciously thought at the yearly bash at the ratepayers expense they have gone for ‘one of our own’.
DJ and Independent Councillor Kevin McAteer who DJ’s under the stage name ‘DJ Pot Holes’ will play at the party for a ‘fraction’ of David Guetta’s £25,000 price.
Council Chairperson Gillian Fitzpatrick told Newry Spud:
“We didn’t want to be too flashy and have David Guetta attend so we turned to our very own DJ Pot Holes Kevin McAteer to provide the banging tunes. I’m bringing the cocaine and Henry Reilly is supplying the E’s.”
