The Newry, Mourne and Down District Council has come up with a novel new plan to fill in the district’s many potholes they have said.
The new plan will see children from 5 years old up to 14 years old filling the potholes in what they will think is some sort of game.
Council Chairperson Roisin Mulgrew told Newry Spud:
“This is a win-win for all concerned. We will collect the children after school and put them to work filling in potholes for 4 hours a day.
It’s character building and would train them very early for the job market, which can only be a good thing, and it would save us a lot of money too.”
