Controversial ‘Dog Meat Festival’ To Be Held In Newry Next Month

Controversy has visited Newry with the announcement that a ‘Dog Meat Festival’ is to be held next month in Jennings Park we can reveal.

The Newry, Mourne & Down District Council have voted in favour of the controversial festival that has only ever been held in the village of Yulin in China.

The NSPCA in the city have said they will not stand for the festival but they seem to have very little legal redress as the council have already rubber-stamped the event.

The council are to provide the dogs that are to be cooked from their massive amount of strays that have been unclaimed.

If you would like to attend the dog meat festival where you can literally taste a real ‘Hot Dog’ then come along to Jennings Park at 2pm on Saturday 20th June.
