Dublin UFC star Conor McGregor has said he will take up a position as a sales assistant in the Monaghan Street based McParland’s hardware store.

The shock career change comes after McGregor was comprehensively beaten by Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Dubliner told Newry Spud:

“I’ve been flying high in the mixed martial arts and boxing world for a decade now. After last night’s awful performance I got the offer to come in and sell random shit in McParland’s so I jumped at the oppeetunity to lead a normal life for a year or two.”
