An internal row has spread through the Newry Mourne & Down District Council it has been revealed after what Sinn Féin are calling a ‘cruel and unnecessary’ trick over the festive period.
Council insiders have told Newry Spud that the row involves two former colleagues Davy Hyland & Charlie Casey and involved a ‘Secret Santa’ type prank.
It has transpired that Mr Hyland bought Mr Casey a hair brush and a male hair grooming set that was seen as a ‘disrespectful and hurtful’ ploy to upset the veteran Republican Councillor.
We received a telephone call from My Hyland using a recognised code word saying:
“I claim responsibility for the action over the festive period towards Councillor Casey. After Sinn Féin’s despicable actions last year by letting the air out of my bicycle tyres I have waited patiently to strike for both Ireland and myself on this issue.”
