Scottish band ‘Wet Wet Wet’ will have a surprise new addition to their line up after they sensationally revealed today via their management team that Noel ‘Taggs’ McTaggart from Camlough will be the new front man for the band.
The news has shocked the music world as the previously unknown McTaggart has been jolted very much into the limelight by replacing the self-obsessed megalomaniac and Glasgow Rangers fan Marti Pellow.
We asked Elliot Davis Wet Wet Wet’s manager what inspired this change in the band, he told Newry Spud:
“I was up in Belleek on business and was having a few drinks when I heard this beautifully melancholic voice coming from Tully’s lounge. I looked in to see was it Marti Pellow but no, it was this rather rough, unkempt kind of ruffian who I now know was Noel or ‘Taggs’ I sat and listened as he sang me his version of ‘Good Night Girl’ and ‘Love Is All Around’ there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I made the decision that this man would replace Pellow as the front man of Wet Wet Wet that day.”
We contacted Mr McTaggart this morning and he was quite grounded and relaxed about the whole affair.
“Well, I don’t usually let people hear my beautiful baritone voice, it was a secret until the man in Tully’s got me full of drink and asked me to sing Wet Wet Wet songs, it was kind of weird and creepy at first but I can’t complain. Its retribution really for all the times Village Folk wouldn’t let me up to sing ‘Broad Black Brimmer’ back in Gennie Macs.”
