Newry, Mourne & Down District Council have announced new plans to start a ‘Drive Through Cinema’ on the Camlough Road going in and out of Newry they have revealed.
The notoriously slow moving traffic will be treated with classics like ‘Gone with the wind’ and ‘The sound of music’ while waiting their turn to get to the bottom of the road and through the roundabout.
A council spokesman told Newry Spud:
“Instead of expanding the road to make way for more cars to access the city centre we decided to erect 6 massive screens along the route on the Camlough Road from The Egyptian Arch to the Railway Bar so commuters could watch films while waiting to get to the roundabout.
We are always thinking outside the box and creatively so this new move should be welcome relief for the victims who have to sit in that traffic day in and day out.”
