Popular Newry hot-spot Bellini’s has erected a boxing ring in order to provide a ‘safe space’ for today’s customers on ‘Black Eye Friday’ they have said.
Black eye Friday is the last Friday before Christmas and is a notorious night for shapes to be thrown in pubs and clubs around the country.
We spoke with a Bellini’s spokesman who told us:
“We thought we’d lead the way and provide those clients who want to have a few digs a safe space within the premises to do so. To that end we rented a full size boxing ring and put it up outside in the smoking area. Boxing gloves are not mandatory but are advisable.”
