A couple from Barcroft have claimed that the ban on smoking behind the wheel with small children in the car is “just scaremongering”, as their dad did it all the time and they “turned out fine”.
Eammon and Saoirse MacGiollamin from Barcroft who are husband and wife and who married each other in June 2016, said their dad even smoked five fegs on the way home from the hospital when they were born.
Eammon told Newry Spud:
“They reckon that smoking in a confined area with a baby or small child can cause them respiratory problems, mild brain damage through oxygen deprivation, and can even affect their sex lives when they reach adulthood.
But that’s just a load of rubbish. My sister and I passively smoked 60 fegs a day with the windows rolled up, yet we’re both mentally stable and our sex life is out of this world”.
