Auditions are being held throughout the Newry area for a remake of the Blockbuster film ‘Straight Outta Compton’.
‘Straight Outta Newry’ will start filming from this October in the Newry area after two local film makers Micky Dodds and Mark Pearce have secured £138 Million to make a gritty realistic drama about the Newry ghetto areas.
Micky Dodd told Newry Spud:
“We are delighted to have secured this funding, it’s a hell of a lot of money, we have decided we are just going to put up CCTV cameras around areas like Derrybeg, Parkhead, Barcroft and other ghettos and basically keep a great lump of the money. Mark Pearce is currently enjoying a week holiday in Greece and I am joining him today.”
Auditions dates and places will be revealed in the next coming weeks. Sheridan’s School of Drama are the casting agents for the movie, any interested actors are asked to contact them.
