Newry supermarkets have said they will offer an amnesty for locals to bring back unopened jars of cranberry sauce and unopened bottles of Shloer for a full refund we can reveal.
It is estimated that at least 45 tons of cranberry sauce goes to the back of the cupboard for a year until its seen again next year when its out of date and at least 190,000 litres of Shloer sit under the sink until its threw out around March.
A spokeswoman from Newry Trade & Commerce told us:
“We hope that we can get these unopened items back and recycled back into the food system before its fucking wasted as usual like every other year. So, please, do avail of this amnesty to return them unopened for a full refund.”
