Word is filtering through to the Newry Spud news desk this morning that some absolute monster alighted a bus today in Newry without saying ‘Thank You’ to the driver.

Although details are currently sketchy it appears it was a bus from Warrenpoint to Newry where the incident is alleged to have taken place.

One shocked and distressed onlooker told Newry Spud:

“I’m still a bit shocked at the moment. Some man he must have been between 25-30 and he just walked past the driver without any acknowledgment, not ever a wee wink or ‘cheers bah’ I mean, what is the country coming to?!”

Translink have confirmed they are investigating an incident that occurred at the Bus Centre in Newry where an unidentified male didn’t say ‘thank you’ for his short journey and that they are speaking with the PSNI in relation to the incident. The driver Ian Rooney is on ‘long term’ sickness over the senseless and unprovoked act.
