An 83-year-old woman had been dead for 6 weeks when she was discovered in the A&E department in Daisy Hill Hospital this morning we can reveal.
It is understood that the pensioner had been waiting for medical attention in the hospital since 26th of September but passed away in the waiting area of the Emergency Department today.
Her body had been left undisturbed until this morning, when another patient became aware that the lady smelled ‘a bit off’ and when he touched her shoulder her remains fell to the ground.
The woman has not yet been named but a Daisy Hill spokesman told Newry Spud:
“She was ONLY waiting 6 weeks, it’s not like we aren’t flat out in here. She had to wait her turn like everyone else.”
