There was widespread jubilation today in the small backward inbred village of Silverbridge as the 1980 computer console Atari was introduced to the locals.
While the rest of the civilized world enjoyed the Atari console from 1980-1982 Silverbridge have yet to enjoy the pleasure of playing games such as ‘Centipede’ and ‘Pac-Man’.
Silverbridge local Barney Kickshitter told Newry Spud:
“The village is on tenterhooks about this news. We are holding a village party in the GAA hall to celebrate this new invention.
As we have only one TV in the village and electricity is so new to us also we will share the new Atari system to all the houses on a rota basis. It really will change our lives.”
