The residents in Newry are today in a state of shock after news emerged that a Chinese food institution only received a one out of five in food hygiene by the local council’s food hygiene standards watchdog.
The Wan Ho Chinese take-away on Merchant’s Quay has been a favourite spot for many hallions in the city who have been left in a state of shock.
We spoke with one loyal Wan Ho customer Stephen Murney who asked not to be named and he told us:
“This is worrying. However I would still eat from it tonight to be honest. The warning signs were there. The chips could have been used for an All-Ireland hand-ball final such was their rubberness.
Legend has it that the curry was used by local decorators for wallpaper paste. But they did some nice dishes too. Their chicken chow mein was fucking paaarful.”
