A young Newry woman will be awarded by Japanese car company Honda for her ‘unwavering and loyal’ connection she has with her little Honda Civic at a function today in the Canal Court Hotel we can reveal.
Shanice Boyle who has repeatedly turned down offers of more luxurious motor vehicles in favour of the little silver banger made in Japan will receive a sizeable cheque by Honda’s UK Chief Executive Dave Hodgetts.
A proud Shanice told Newry Spud:
“I think this recognition from Honda is very much overdue. I simply cannot part with the little yoke. She’s always got me through thick and thin and I’ve spent at least a year of my life sitting in traffic lights at Sugar Island in this wee baby.”
Meanwhile Shanice’s father the mature athlete Johnny ‘Panzer’ Boyle and selfie aficionado told us:
“I haven’t seen one of thon oul Honda’s my girl is driving since I petrol bombed one in the 80’s on the Camlough Road.”
