NETFLIX have confirmed that they are to release a new series in November called ‘Making a Newry Nyuck’.
The programme which is a spin off series from the successful ‘Making a Murderer’ focuses on Steven Avery’s time spent living and working in the Mourneview Park ghetto.
It is a little known secret that Avery who is now in Waupun Correctional Institution actually lived in the area after his release from prison in 2003.
We can now EXCLUSIVLEY reveal that Steven Avery worked in Friar Tuck’s while living in the area. His legal team have confirmed that he had a quiet life in Newry, drinking in John Moore’s and the Armagh Down pubs between shifts in Friar Tuck’s.
Netflix are making this documentary about how Avery became a full blown Newry Nyuck and they are determined to speak to everyone who was connected to him while he lived in Newry.
Making a Newry Nyuck Producer Helen Smyth told Newry Spud:
“For legal reasons we had to leave Steven’s life in Newry out of the original story so we have been speaking to Netflix and thankfully they have funded this spin off show about how Steven became a Newry Nyuck. It is really exciting and it will be a massive hit.”
