Damien Quinn To Play For Pope At Croke Park

In a suprise addition to the line up of entertainers at this evening’s Festival of Families at Croke Park for the Pope’s visit, Newry singer Damien Quinn will perform for the pontiff.

Quinn will join other giants of Irish music such as ‘The Priests’, Daniel O’Donnell & Nathan Carter.

Damien told Newry Spud:

“I was sitting at home this morning eating my occupied six counties fry and got the call from the local Parish priest here in Newry.

They said The Pope was a big fan of my music and Irish Republican music in general. Pope Francis has requested I sing ‘My Old Man’s A Provo’ and ‘Go On Home British Soldiers Go On Home.’ I can’t wait baah.”
