The football world has been rocked today with news that a baby boy with Newry roots has been signed by Celtic Football Club at the tender age of one day old.
Baby Cillian ‘Henrik’ Cassidy the son of Camlough woman Louise Cassidy and Kevin Cassidy born in Glasgow yesterday was signed by Brendan Rodgers today.
Speaking to Newry Spud Brendan Rodgers told us:
“When we heard this new baby was born and had Newry blood in him we signed him on a ‘development contract’ with no hesitation. We only hope he’s not like his grandfather Paul Garvey who was born with 2 left feet.”
