This morning, divers from the Royal Navy took part in a delicate wreckage recovery operation to bring to the surface a Nazi submarine found in Camlough Lake we can reveal.
The U-boat was first spotted by amateur swimmers yesterday. Archaeologists from The Ulster Maritime Society quickly realized that they were dealing with a sunk German submarine from the Second World War.
One expert told Newry Spud:
“We never knew that the German military reached Camlough and we are baffled how they got into the closed lake without bring spotted. We are open to the train of thought that local Republicans bought the submarine but we’re at an early stage of investigation.”
